Happy Birthday Iza

Today is my sister's birthday. So, here's my wish to her:
"Iza, happy birthday! May Allah bless your age and our family. Thanks for being such an epic sister of mine in this universe!"
Yeah, she is cool and epic! We're quite close but quite far (because now she's in peninsular Malaysia for her future study) so Facebook is the only place we can hang out. Read her blog and see how epic she is!

She just joined WSB officially few days ago (although she know this quite long ago). Welcome to the club!

While this is our very latest photo together taken during my convocation day few months ago. (What?! Few months ago?!)

Iza, gemuknya kau sini... -_-

RAMOS is NOT may father's name

This is kinda funny title. But it's a fact! Actually, I've been facing this problem since my 1st day at school and I thought this problem only happened on me but when I red my sister's blog this morning regarding this phenomena, I was so surprise and think to re-blog this for everyone's information.

Me and my dad - yeah, he is handsome.
My name is Affinie A. Ramos. Most people (whom newly met me) will think that Ramos is my father's name or even worst; ARamos, Abdul Ramos or in a full line as Affinie Binti ARamos. THIS IS TOTALLY WRONG. My full name is Affinie Ariffin Ramos (or maybe I should say Affinie Alex Ramos since my dad's name on my birth certificate are not written as Ariffin but Alex T. Ramos).

My dad's name is Ariffin Ramos Abdullah (muslim name) and/or Alex T. Ramos. So, A stands for Ariffin and/or Alex.

I do think that people especially our cousins and relatives with surnames faced the same problem if they are in Malaysia but might not be a confusion for those who live in Philippines or countries which accept this 'surname' method.

This 'family name' or 'surname' matter doesn't cause any misunderstanding in countries such as Philippines, United State, Europe, China or I think almost everywhere (except Malaysia) because in Malaysia and/maybe Indonesia as well did not use 'family name' or 'surname' after their name but put their father's full name after their's.

My personal idea of this matter; having a father's name after our name will caused difficulties in tracing family tree. Imagine if we're (me and my siblings) use Ariffin after our names, we will never know our relatives outside there (since my dad's family are not locally from Malaysia). Thus, having Ramos as our surname really helps us to trace our family tree and now currently in a search of tracing our surname with this man. (I will try to blog the whole story of our research about this matter as soon I got the complete information).

Here I created a group for Ramos and Tipay (my dad's middle name) family to make us easier to trace each other. Try to create your own family group. For those who didn't use any surname, you might totally face the problem in tracing their names! Trust me.

Copied from my sister's statement; Ramos is actually our family's name since our dad is Illocano locally from Philippine. Our grandpa had migrate few decades ago to Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia since the colonial era of British (that time Sabah was known as North Borneo and Sandakan was the main city). Our dad and all his siblings born here and soon after the independence day of Borneo, our grandparents and all their children (including my dad) become a Malaysian citizen.

More info about Illocano here.

My dad convert to Islam before he met our mom and few years later, so born me with the name of Affinie A. Ramos.

So, any misunderstanding and questions regarding this confusion?

Latest photo of me and my dad.

Dare to add my dad's Facebook? He he he...

10 reasons why my mom is the coolest mom ever

I know it's a belated wish because I don't have internet connection to write things here that day (was that on 8th May or some says it's in 9th or 10th?).

Like what my sister wrote on her own version of Mom's Day,
"Well my mom.She is not a typical mom like in Malay dramas who like to membebel, lipat kain, besanggul and bekain batik all the time. hek hek. My mom is extraordinary and awesome!"
Yea, she ain't the same with other typical mom in the world (especially in this tropical Asian country). So, here's 10 reasons Why my mom is so cool than other moms in this universe.

That's my coolest mom ever. Aren't she is cool?! This is during her high school band practice. Damn! This photo is so cool!

  1. She's a good listener of all my love stories!
  2. She's the one who taught me to play guitar!
  3. She's a good singer because she is a singer!
  4. She loves what mostly I like (vintages, art, boots, poem, novels, handicraft, beads, extra ordinary outfits, DAYDREAMING, forest, musics, etc...)
  5. She got thousand inspirations.
  6. She's like the coolest best friend ever that I ever had!
  7. She's the prettiest women ever on earth (we all admit that, she is)!
  8. Yeah, she hate nagging and that's the coolest ever.
  9. She's always calm no matter how panic is the situation while I'm a bad panic sicker!
  10. She LOVES my blog!

Actually she got a lot more points of being the coolest mom ever but it may take time to write it down all! Happy mom's day, mom...you know, you are the best!

Went back to Sandakan

Long trip surrounded by greens,

then meet my really-really old friend,

at my mom's house.
Now, I'm back in KK.
How I really miss there so much.

I'll be back there, again.
Next time, soon...

Homesick...

I love you so much, Mom.

Ok, I love to tag this to two bloggers; ASK Abu and ♫FEN♫, enjoy!

Jealousy

You might feel jealous when you see your sisters having a great time somewhere without you while you just sitting here in front of the screen reading their blogs and photo album in their Facebook telling you how great they are!

My sister; Datul at Mount Kinabalu last week; 13th March.

Oh! How I really-really feel jealous because I adore Mount Kinabalu so much!

----

...and this is my sister; Iza. She went to Pulau Perhentian last Feb, 25th.
I have no comment in island vacation because I'm not really into it but still, I felt JEALOUS!

----

In this is Man, Noorman's cousin who went to Pulau Manukan few weeks ago. Oh! They having such a great time!

How about me??
