RAMOS is NOT may father's name

This is kinda funny title. But it's a fact! Actually, I've been facing this problem since my 1st day at school and I thought this problem only happened on me but when I red my sister's blog this morning regarding this phenomena, I was so surprise and think to re-blog this for everyone's information.

Me and my dad - yeah, he is handsome.
My name is Affinie A. Ramos. Most people (whom newly met me) will think that Ramos is my father's name or even worst; ARamos, Abdul Ramos or in a full line as Affinie Binti ARamos. THIS IS TOTALLY WRONG. My full name is Affinie Ariffin Ramos (or maybe I should say Affinie Alex Ramos since my dad's name on my birth certificate are not written as Ariffin but Alex T. Ramos).

My dad's name is Ariffin Ramos Abdullah (muslim name) and/or Alex T. Ramos. So, A stands for Ariffin and/or Alex.

I do think that people especially our cousins and relatives with surnames faced the same problem if they are in Malaysia but might not be a confusion for those who live in Philippines or countries which accept this 'surname' method.

This 'family name' or 'surname' matter doesn't cause any misunderstanding in countries such as Philippines, United State, Europe, China or I think almost everywhere (except Malaysia) because in Malaysia and/maybe Indonesia as well did not use 'family name' or 'surname' after their name but put their father's full name after their's.

My personal idea of this matter; having a father's name after our name will caused difficulties in tracing family tree. Imagine if we're (me and my siblings) use Ariffin after our names, we will never know our relatives outside there (since my dad's family are not locally from Malaysia). Thus, having Ramos as our surname really helps us to trace our family tree and now currently in a search of tracing our surname with this man. (I will try to blog the whole story of our research about this matter as soon I got the complete information).

Here I created a group for Ramos and Tipay (my dad's middle name) family to make us easier to trace each other. Try to create your own family group. For those who didn't use any surname, you might totally face the problem in tracing their names! Trust me.

Copied from my sister's statement; Ramos is actually our family's name since our dad is Illocano locally from Philippine. Our grandpa had migrate few decades ago to Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia since the colonial era of British (that time Sabah was known as North Borneo and Sandakan was the main city). Our dad and all his siblings born here and soon after the independence day of Borneo, our grandparents and all their children (including my dad) become a Malaysian citizen.

More info about Illocano here.

My dad convert to Islam before he met our mom and few years later, so born me with the name of Affinie A. Ramos.

So, any misunderstanding and questions regarding this confusion?

Ps: This is not my own body. I traced it somewhere from here's source.

Malaysia's Next Top Female Blogger Contest From Sandra Azwan

OMG! I think this contest is totally awesome! Not only because of the prize but also because of content of the blog is totally awesome! I think, before you start reading my contest entry, you better check out this blog and read all his entry! It's all about FASHION and what the most important thing is; it's an awesome fashion designs locally from Malaysia!

Sorry, I don't have much time to copy-and-paste the contest's rules because I'm so excited to write my own! My-o-my! So, here's my entry;

#1 Telling them about my blog in 70 words or less.
Okay, my blog is about art and inspirations. In a certain time, I also write things about my life simply but still focusing on things to inspire people. I start this blog last 2009 with the beginning of writing about junks in my life. When I found some inspiring and awesome blogs mostly from Australia & New Zealand (such as Daydreamlily - which I follow since she still using blogspot domain), my ideology in writing blogs change to what my blog look like now. I update my blog anytime when I got stuff to dream on. But mostly almost two to three entries a day! I'm a web designer, freelancer, art lover, dreamer and a blogger. Read more here.

#2 What is my personal style?
I love pale colors with the combination of laces on light cotton fabric. If its an illustrated fabric, I love to choose designs with English Rose or abstract pattern. I kinda dislike to wear stuffs that other people already have them on their wardrobe. I want to be unique no matter how hard I try to get it. I don't mind to buy clothes in second hand shops, because there, you wont see them at other stores on sale! If I'm not who I am now, I'll be a fashion designer!

#3 A picture(s) of myself with my favorite outfits on.

I love boots in this hot tropical country. We are talking about fashion, dude!

My most favorite of all; All-White-Dress. 'Sesuci Hati Ibu'

#4 Am I the Malaysia's Next Top Female Blogger? Why?
Of course I am! Because my blog is unique than other blogs found in Malaysia (sounds like riak? OMG! Sorry). I minimize myself on writing junks or playing copy-paste from other blogs or source. I watch every writings on my blog so no one get harm. If you're talking about fashion, my fashion is - unique and vintage. Cannot be seen anywhere.

#5 I love to read "Life With Sandra" because it's belong to an awesome Malaysian designer! I admit in honest, I just followed this blog recently after found it in my friend's blog. At first I thought this blog was just a typical blog that we usually read. But trust me! This blog is totally awesome and suddenly I felt proud to be Malaysian! Hey, just look at the banner itself! It's an art, an awesome illustration by a Malaysian designer! Impressive right! Now I start to addict with the way he illustrate his ideas. He's not just a fashion designer, he's totally awesome in photography and illustrations. Adore!

It's a cloudy day and I like it

It's a cloudy day today and I like it very much. I had a beautiful morning walk and walk with some nice song in my head. Then I had a banana for my breakfast and continue my walk to reach the office. Oh, I forgot that I got a bus and had a very nice morning view through the bus's window.

Remembering my dawn, it's a very beautiful fajr after having my morning pray. I like hows the early morning smells like.

When I almost reach the office, the sun came out and I almost hate it. So I grabbed mom's umbrella and take  the shade for another few little walks.

At the moment I write this, I'm waiting for a lunch time in hunger. It's a public holiday today and I'm so happy. Got works to do!

Some quick update

I really need a rest...
I've done too much works...

Just some quick update; a little bit about my life. I've been posting just a little short stories since previous post this early year and less about my life. Well, I was just trying to minimizing the stories of what goes around me. It's just a matter of privacy something.

Actually, I've been spending most of my time in the internet doing Facebook works and works all day long. Plus, I don't have internet connection at home anymore so since then, we spend our days without internet and Facebook by doing stuffs like daydreaming and other fun things. So, when I reach office and grab the keyboard, I don't have much time to write stuffs but more into sharing beautiful photos.

Today, I was like, being so busy with some Facebook project; an official matters in Facebook; my office's official Facebook site which is fully developed by me. Of course it took some headaches and sweats on it since I'm new in Facebook. After all, I got a very-very cool result.

You can visit the page here (for Facebook site) and here (for our official site; fully designed and developed by me!)

See ya!
